Sometimes I act as the proud parent, but these new improved croissants are the best I ever had, EVEN IN PARIS! That’s right I challenge you to try LA’s only sugar-free croissant, made from scratch using organically grown flour. Thank Joel for taking the time and patience to perfect these gems. Everyone’s loving them! Joel you’re amazing!

Ok, here’s the deal. We support the writers, so any writer affected by the strike gets a free coffee with any purchase. And all you have to do is mention this writers strike story and your coffee is on us. Good luck! (Some restrictions may apply)

It’s our new Cranberry Walnut Tart. A blend of fresh and dried cranberries sitting on our crusted shortbread in a bed of lightly applied pastry creme and a hit of orange. Cranberry is the perfect holiday treat.

Some of you may have noticed the absence of one of our most popular vegan cakes from our pastry case. The Caramelized Apple Cake has been missing for a couple of weeks and we wanted to let you know why. As happens from time to time in the natural foods business, the soy cream cheese used for the frosting and filling has been discontinued by the company. There aren’t many choices for a non-hydrogenated, sugar free, and vegan cream cheese substitute out there, but we are searching high and low. We are confident we will find one that will live up to our high standards and make the Caramelized Apple Cake even better than before. In the mean time, you can still enjoy our famous Carrot Raisin Cake. And if you haven’t yet tried our amazing, vegan German Chocolate Cake, we can highly recommend it. We will keep you posted on the status of the Caramelized Apple Cake, and we apologize for the inconvenience. It will be back!

As some of you may already know, I love to travel. So far I’ve been to 37 countries since I started traveling in 70s. Of course in my earlier days I couldn’t afford to eat in nice restaurants. But now after becoming a ‘foodie’ where we go for dinner is an important decision while on the road. I just got back from Key West, Florida and was completely surprised and thrilled to have had the best experiences in restaurants there. Not only was the service attentive and warm, but the food was excellent nearly every time! So in case you decide to go to fantasy fest next October or visit Key West any time, here are my four favorites: Firstly the best restaurant for breakfast or lunch was Sarabeth’s A wonderful dinner of great wines and continental cuisine was Michael’s Another wonderful breakfast stop is Alice’s A casual but lovely restaurant for fish, with an amazing selection of local catch and varied preparations, all exceptional was Seven Fish I know Key West is off the usual popular travel spots, but it’s a quick 35 min flight from Miami and definitely worth the visit! If you go, let me know what you experience. Palm Springs wake up and get with the program!!

As you probably know we’re just few blocks from the Writers Guild at 3rd & Fairfax. Over the years, so many writers have taken up space here especially off hours, to just sit and write. We feel for all the writers and Hollywood in general about this unfortunate situation. Our hearts go out to all those affected and hope this matter will be resolved quickly.
