The Caramelized Apple Cake Is Back
This apple cake, is one of our most popular because it tastes great and is VEGAN and Wheat-Free.
It was discontinued last year due to an ingredient, non dairy cream cheese which become unavailable from our supplier.
That disappointed many of our customers who really liked it’s gourmet quality and complex flavors.
But it’s back now and hopefully here to stay. The cake looks the same, and the taste difference with the new ingredient, tofutti, is negligible. Still available in any size and buy the slice.

Mani’s is great but what has always been great is the quality of the food. Nutritious treats! But I fear they are starting to lose this. And it’s so sad because they have such great recipes.
But TOFUTTI now in the vegan cakes! Tofutti is a highly processed substance filled with hydrogenated oils and chemicals! And most health conscious people in LA know this. We care what goes into our bodies and that’s why we eat here.
Long time patrons are very willing to standby and hope they listen to their bloggers, however.
PLEASE go back to quality ingredients (especially since you’ve raised all the prices). And everyone that eats there do so because you use alternative flours and sweeteners, so continue to do so please. We miss all those options. Lately so many more products are sweetened with cane sugar, honey, regular flour-- which are okay but don’t compare to the barley, spelt, whole flours and fruit as sweetener that you used to use a lot more of. We miss your amazing non-dairy but HEALTHY desserts.
For your bakers, I found this alternative recipe on a Tofutti thread:
Re: Tofutti Cream Cheese?
tofutti is nasty, ultra processed crap! Look at the ingredient list?
Not to hard to make your own though and it is much tastier and does not have gums, stabilizers and other useless ingredients that do not belong in human diets.
use silken tofu and put it in a food processor along with whatever herbs and veggies you want for a nice spread
